the past/present conundrum

thinking back

the past always seems so wonderful

and

the present always seems dreadful

but

the present will one day become the past

how then

did these dreadful days become so wonderful ?

frozen

for that one brief moment in time
the feeling of pure unadulterated happiness

the small things

when you were younger everything seemed big and exciting.
now you're older.
everything's the same except you're no longer excited.
you've been jaded.

the joy of innocence

remember when it took almost nothing to put a smile on your face ?
now it seems as though almost nothing puts a smile on your face.

the words set in text

i was never really good with words
and quoting Shakespeare was never my thing
but there's one thing i know for sure

you're beautiful , just the way you are

the bottle on the pipe

even the simplest of objects
has a story to tell

you'll never know
if you never give it a chance

pretty much the same

i'm gonna prove them all wrong.

time is of no matter

the opposing teams

it took me so long.

the search for meaning

the question isn't whether you're ready to let go of the world
rather , is the world ready to let go of you
everyone is here for a reason
you , you're destined for a greatness you just don't understand yet.

the backroads where you don't belong

there's nothing magical about the way things work
only blood, sweat and tears
don't you dare take anything for granted

when your soul is weary
and your feet are worn

and for a moment in time
you can pretend you're home

peeking at the other side

no matter how we try
we can never be someone else
we can never understand how they feel

a mere glimpse
can't even begin to tell a part of the story

the backstreets you pretend don't exist

behind every facade
are the people who make it possible
the people who get their hands dirty

just because you don't see them most of the time
doesn't mean they don't exist

they've certainly earned your respect

the easy way would be to just leave it as that ; undefined

it looks like something i understand
yet the meaning doesn't equate

the octopus

the octopus says you should forget all that is sad
and move forward and think about all that is happy
that is all.

the words unspoken

the spiral

life is like a spiral
it goes round and round

those that burnt the brightest

birds of a feather

no matter how different we are on the outside
deep down within us we're all the same
only human ; with fears , hopes and dreams

the delusion of grandeur

how could something so simple
be mistaken for something so complex

they are but a figment of your imagination
time to wake up to reality

if humans understood each other
there would be no cause for conflict

the highway that is growing up

it seems like just yesterday
we were small and everything else seemed tall
now we are tall and everything seems small

we used our imagination and lived in fantasy
now we rely on facts and live in reality

everything changed so fast
we blinked and it was gone

just keep running

life is very simple
it's all about putting one step ahead of the other

the problems will just go by

the u-turns in life

in this journey we are on
we've gone through so much
we've taken the low road
we've taken the high road
we've walked the roads well travelled
we've walked the roads less travelled

always we're had u-turns we could take
but what if one day the u-turns just disappear ?

some paths are just one way.

the beauty in symmetry

symmetrical in many ways
but lives in symmetry rarely meet

a house is not a home

it doesn't matter what it looks like
it doesn't matter where it is
it doesn't matter who our neighbours are
as long as it's you and me living there
any house is home
